Colegio Jorge Washington’s Curriculum is that of a U.S. college-preparatory school. Instruction is in English and in Spanish. A dual program prepares students for both the U.S. high school and the Colombian Bachillerato diplomas. Common Core Standards; Next Generation Standards (Natural Sciences); National Association for Sports and Physical Education Standards; C3 Framework, ISTE Standards and Colombian Ministry of Education Standards guide instruction. The College Board accredited Advanced Placement Program starts in High School with a variety of options.
Project Based Learning and Service Learning are both methodologies align with our Strategic Plan. We continue developing UbDs (Understanding by Design units) and cross curricular planning, setting our students in the center and empowering them to creatively and collaboratively design real life solutions to real life problems.
Our students take the PSAT, SAT and SABER 11 examinations throughout their High School years and as part of their graduation requirements.
COJOWA is accredited by Cognia and by the Colombian Ministry of Education. Graduation rate is 100% and students go on to colleges and universities in Colombia, the United States and Europe.
