Elementary Program Overview

Schedule: 7:45 am – 2:50 pm

We educate the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally, and physically—through a rigorous, student-centered curriculum. Our teaching fosters a growth mindset, personalized learning, and experiential opportunities that build students’ intrinsic motivation. We believe education should help students thrive both within and beyond school, building on past successes to shape a better future. The elementary years support healthy development, self-regulation, and learning habits like self-awareness.

Instruction includes core subjects taught by English-speaking homeroom and co-teachers, with Spanish-speaking specialists in Spanish, Colombian Social Studies, music, art, drama, digital learning, and Physical Education. Our project-based learning and service learning units ensure students receive a well-rounded, connected education. Our curriculum promotes 21st-century learning and social-emotional growth for all our students.

Learning Center

In the Learning Center, we believe that all students deserve a quality education and opportunity to reach their individual potential. We know that some students will need support and specialized instruction to reach academic goals. Therefore, the Learning Center works with teachers and parents to determine, based on school performance, whether or not students should be recommended for an external evaluation in order to receive Learning Center Services.

If an external professional determines that a student needs additional support, the student will enter into the Learning Center.

Using the information provided by the external professional, the Learning Center Specialists will work with students inside and outside of the mainstream classroom to reach academic goals established by the school and classroom teacher.

Learning Center Team
Many people work together including: Learning Center Specialists, Counselors, classroom teachers, parents and external professionals.
